The ebay ICs will support 500RWHP, but it will take more compressor discharge pressure to do this as compared to the other aftermarket intercoolers out there. The other alternatives will allow you to make your power goal with less stress on the other parts of the system, which translates to either more power potential or more safety margin. These intercoolers aren't all that much better than stock and it may give people a false sense of security, leading to bad things going on within the engine.

I presume if you dont plan to run anything larger than a Sport500-class turbocharger, the ebay intercoolers would be an inexpensive solution, but it seems that most people are skipping over that class of turbo nowadays and going for setups that will require better intercooling for the sake of safety or better performance.

and the pictures of the cast inlets/outlets are the reason I didn't go with that process - you can't produce a thin wall pipe in a casting process, and you can't make the pipe larger and expect it to fit the OEM couplers, so, you end up compromising the i.d. of the pipe. There are several reasons those intercoolers are as cheap as they are, and you will get what you pay for.
